ADVICE FROM DON WARD [teacher in Paris and alias The Scarecrow on the Language Fun Farm] 1. Keep in touch with the language every day. 2. There are only 5 ways of getting language into your brain. Use all of them. (Reading, writing, listening, speaking and, for anyone who is blind, touch.) 3. Think to yourself; keep the language swirling round like leaves on a windswept pond otherwise it sinks and takes some stirring to get it all back up to the surface. 4. Keep a diary - on tape or written or both. |
